The Offspring Phoenix Concert reviews
Aerosmith and ZZ Top deliver the goods (again)!
The packed house agreed when those Bad Boys from Boston hit the stage and suggested we "Eat the Rich" - anybody who had doubts about the heart (or health) of these guys got their answer Friday night. That lil ol' band from Texas brought the funk of Muddy, threw in a dash of Chuck Berry, and Topped it off with Hendrix's "Foxy Lady" for all the f-i-n-e Houston ladies in the house. If he's lost a step over the years, I can't tell! (my 11th The Offspring show) - Screamin' Demon Steven Tyler was out front. The stage and light show just blew everyone away! The one/two punch of stringmasters Joe Perry and Brad Whitford with David Hull filling in for Tom Hamilton on bass, sounded as tight as Joey Kramer's snare drum as they cranked out a setlist that sounded like the boys have committed to deliver faithful album renditions of all the classics. Thanks to The Offspring and ZZ for showin' the kids how the Rock Train keeps rollin' and the show must go on.
